Here is Jesse's story
The following link relates Jesse’s story.
Jesse also wanted everyone to know that the person who saved him was a veteran who served two tours of duty as an EMT.
We have been getting calls nonstop so feel free to pass this along to anyone who may be interested.

Hi guys,
For those of you who might not know, or would like an update: Jesse had a ski mountaineering accident and is in pretty bad shape right now. He has no internal injuries, but a mangled lower left leg with a compound fracture. As long as it stays infection free, though, it will at least still be there. A 5 inch long 'chip' is missing from his tibia, and that's the biggest concern now. He's getting a bone graft tomorrow. His ACL in the left knee will need repair, but that will have to wait until the bone has healed. The right shoulder dislocated, but I'm not sure if/when that will be dealt with.
On the brighter side: He has only lost 10% of muscle in that left leg. The posterior tibial tendon is completely gone, but the foot/ankle surgeon seems to think that's fixable and has done that many times beore. He's alert and up. Even got out of bed to 'walk' around a little today, and he's been talking more and more about what happened up there, and is doing a good job of processing that. He is one tough dude. A lot of people would have 'checked out', but Jesse kept fighting and problem solving through the whole 2000 foot long ride.
Neither one of us are big in blogging about our outdoor adventures, but I'm sending you a link from outer local. Christian stopped by this morning and got the full story from Jesse himself, and he posted it today. It's pretty accurate, so I figured I'd share it and the rumor mill can stop working so hard. It's full on, so it might not be something everyone want to read, but this way you have the option...

Jesse is doing pretty well, and is in good spirits. He is still in ICU though, and with the infection risk being what it is, and with all the surgeries etc he has to go through, it's a little tough with visitation right now. If yo get turned around while stopping by, it is absolutely not because we don't wanna see you! It's just cause he needs rest, dressings are being changed etc etc... And not to worry: There will be plenty of opportunity to hang out and/or help out, starting in a week or two! We really appreciate all the well wishes and offers to help. We will definitely take advantage of that!
We are so thankful to be surrounded by such a great group of people! And I'm feeling pretty freakin' lucky I get to keep Jesse around for a while longer.
My computer's address book is a little screwed up, so I know I'm missing some people. So please, forward it on. Someone might get it twice, but oh well...
