Hello, I work at a VA hospital, and I have a question on using a trench drain for a shower. Our showers are old, and need to be replaced. Instead of replacing the shower drain pans, management wants to install a trench drain that runs the length of the showers, about 12 feet. Us plumbers don't agree with this but there is not much we can do. I found a nice stainless steel trench drain that fits the requirement, but according to management it cost to much. Management is going with these cheap trench drains that are plastic and snap together. There is no slop to the drain on these trench drains, they are all flat. The tops of these trench drains are ridged and I think they will hurt the veterans feet. Also, I think it will be a problem keeping these plastic drains clean. I have looked online for any information that I could find, but I am not finding much. Does anyone know a good site were I could get some information to show management.
