Hi everyone- hope this isn’t a dumb question but it’s my first IIIB project.
I’m working on a multi family project with a 2 story type 1A podium below and 5 story type 3B wood structure above. For the type IIIB portion, most of our exterior walls are non load-bearing and don’t require a 2 hour rating, but there are a couple of areas where the exterior wall is bearing. I’m Using FRT wood on all exterior walls and 1 layer of densglass sheathing with 1 layer gyp on the interior side at non load-bearing and 2 layers of gyp on the inside at load bearing walls.
I’m having trouble finding a UL assembly for an exterior bearing wall with the 2HR fire rating on the interior side that only has one layer of glass mat sheathing on the exterior side. UL U301 has 2 layers and U302 Uses brick. With the fire requirement been on the interior side Is 1 layer of sheathing on the exterior side with fiber cement panels allowed?
