Visual Fire Alarm Connectivity in R-2

2018 IBC 907.5.2.3.3 does not appear to require the interconnectability of the building and unit building fire alarms. It permits the interconnectability but seems to simply allow one to replace the audible unit alarms with audible/visible alarm devices per #2. The list is multiple choice, they aren't all required.
