Visual indicator for main entry electric door strike?

I have an apartment building with an access control system (card reader, keypad and intercom) mounted on a post within about 4' of the entry doors. The entry is a pair of double doors: One leaf is normally fixed with concealed bolts, and it has a concealed electric strike. This way the management can "buzz" people in - - literally, the solenoid makes a buzzing sound, and the active leaf can be pulled open.

Question: does ADA (and/or the California Building Code) also require some visual indicator at or near the exterior door handle itself (perhaps a green LED), so that a deaf person will know when the active door can be pulled open?

Or is some indicator (at the card reader / control system that is 4' away from the door) sufficient?

The only time visual indicators are required is in elevators and Fire alarm systems.

The ADA and CBC is silent on this.

What we have here then is a best practices/ the right thing to do vs a "silent" code/ada without prescriptive direction.

By asking the initial question you have indicated an "issue" worthy of consideration and resolution, though not maybe a "triable" omission.

The ADA strongly recommends that where ever possible access accomodations should be provided for all of us.

I checked with my counterpart in California, and he doesn't know of this requirement either.
Lori, I know that on hotel-type swipe card room locks, there's an LED that flashes green when the door unlocks. Do you know if there's a similar LED feature available (but without all the swipe card stuff) for an electric strike? Or an electrified latch?
