You can't make this stuff up....

I was there for a foundation inspection. I could clearly see where there had been a water heater on the back of the house.. I asked where it was now and the contractor told me that it was in the kitchen as that’s where they had easy access to gas. There was a family living there and no vent hooked up to the water heater. We were experiencing Santa Ana winds, and the house was drafty. Otherwise there could’ve been a dead family.

One day at college, I returned to my dorm to find the fire department was at the room next to mine.
The guy in that room decided he wanted to BBQ inside his room, which was obviously a violation of all rules. So in order to avoid the smoke giving away his plan, he kept his window closed.

This dorm was very old, and the only smoke detectors were located inside the HVAC ductwork. Thankfully, the fire department was alerted by the system, and when they got to his room, he was semi-conscious.

After recovery he was kicked out of the dorm, yet remained enrolled at the college, where his nickname became "Kingsford".

A adult male that I am acquainted with figured that the self clean feature of an electric oven would cook a steak in record time. He found out that when in self cleaning mode, the door is locked. A neighbor called 911. He was correct about the steak.

I assume it came out well done?
