Has anyone found, or can direct me to, a 1/2 hour rated floor/ceiling and roof/ceiling assemblies using I-Joists? I would prefer a generic listing but a specific joist manufacturer would be great also.
Thanks in advance,
Ken

1/2 hour seems odd....more likely to find 1 hour. But that kind of discussion is not in my area of expertise.

Separation from what, who when and why, some more information is needed, what is the code section requiring the separation?

Corridors and Dwelling Unit separation, 1020.2 and 420.

Have you found a one hour design, with the material you want to use???

If so or find one, more than likely easiest way to go. Plus not much more materials involved.

One hour floor/ceiling assemblies are abundant, but most require 2 layers of gyp. bd. on r/c or hat channels. One would think you could delete 1 layer of GB for a 1/2 hour rating but I can't find any documentation for back-up. Deleting that 1 layer of GB on a 3 story apartment building could save quite a bit of money ("affordable housing" project).

Yep, whoever came up with 1/2 hr rated walls, should be

Anyway why can't you do IBC 722?
