Determine the rating of an existing floor

I have an existing floor that is very similar to a 2hr UL G515 floor assembly. The only difference is instead of metal furring, there is Wood 1x2's - 10" o.c. How do a determine the hourly rating of this floor? I know about chapter 721 and 722, but what I can gather there's no area that talks...

34" or 36" max a.f.f.? Under ansi.a117.1.2009, what's the max for a condiment counter and a trash base cabinet in a restaurant? If 36", can you point me to the code that allows this? I've gone back and forth on this with multiple contractors and inspectors. Tired.

Do all the entrances into a building need to satisfy ADA clearances?

Hypothetically, if you have multiple entrances into a business tenant space, do they all need to accommodate the following clearances? Or do only 60% of the entrances into the space, need to have these clearances...

Individual classroom restrooms in a daycare

With a daycare, whether it be an E or I-4 occupancy, if the common restrooms accommodate all the ADA fixtures, do the individual classroom restrooms need to be ADA accessible, as well? --- Also, is it possible to count the fixtures in the individual classroom restrooms, toward the over...

Dead-end corridor interpretation in a story, unsprinklered I-4

Dead-end corridor interpretation in a story, unsprinklered I-4

I have a 1story, unsprinklered I-4 Daycare (probably an E, based on 308.6.1 Classification as Group E). Clients want to add another room as illustrated below. Question: I assume the corridor, highlighted in yellow, is not a dead-end corridor because all the rooms have 2 means of egress. Is...

When do you add the 12" extension at the bottom of stairs?

When do you add this 12" extension to handrails at the bottom of a stair run? All the time? Or are there times you don't need it? --- Another question: Can this 12" extension run perpendicular to the stair run? That is, can it turn a corner for example? Assume an IBC, commercial application.

Converting a mixed use building to mostly B1 tenantd - still need sprinklers for the entire building?

from our AHJ. "Three or more tenants in the building but only the B occupancy is remodeled, the residential portion is not touched. The remodeled B area is over 50% of the building area making it a level 3 alteration. IEBC s. 904.1 references s. 804.2 so the primary sprinkler threshold...

Converting a mixed use building to mostly B1 tenantd - still need sprinklers for the entire building?

I agree, from what I can gather, the remaining residence would be an R3. Yes there's a change in occupancy--it would be those 3 R2's that were converted to B1's.

Converting a mixed use building to mostly B1 tenantd - still need sprinklers for the entire building?

I'm helping a client potentially convert (3) 2nd floor R2's to a B1 tenant. Even though there will only be (1) R2 left in the entire building after the renovation, will we need to sprinkler the entire building since the renovation is more than 50% of the building's area? The building is only 2...

Restrooms requirements for a 3 unit, 3 story R-2 renovation

For an existing 3 unit, 3 story R-2 project, am I correct to assume, if we satisfy the following highlighted code exceptions, that no matter the level of alteration (1, 2 or 3) if we either renovate an existing bathroom, or create a new bathroom, that these bathrooms do not have to meet Type B...

    Fire alarm requirements for F-1

Will be in Wisconsin. I have a question out to the AHJ to see which one has precedent. I thought I'd ask here, to see if it was more straight forward than a AHJ stipulation.
