    Long Absence

CDA, Retired BO and now doing consulting for small jurisdictions. I'm old,not as old as Conarb , and got real disgusted where all the laws are going. Found it hard to enforce some of the bs coming down the pipes.Consulting is a better gig!

    Scottsdale Arizona!

Just returned from a week of spring training for the giants and what an impressive town. Haven't been in a town that is prosperous and growing for awhile. Not a single sighting of graffiti, gang bangers or ghetto blight. Great vacation land for paranoid, old white folks. Kudos!

    Going home early today

going home to celebrate 42 years? Henderson at 47 years? You guys should be old enough not to have to go to work anymore? Maybe leaving the house everyday is the secret for maritable longevity. I just celebrated 30 years total with 2 wives. Guess I stayed home more than I should have.

    What is common sense?

look at your typical breaker where you land the hot. It has a groove on two sides under the screw. What side does common sense say to land the conductor on? Since their are two grooves does that mean you can put a wire on each side of the screw?

    Unusable Space above walk-in Coolers

I would say yes to extending the ceiling membrane because it won't be rated if the membrane for that area is not installed.

Knob & Tube Wiring and Replacement Insulation

so the bo goes out and says what he can see looks iffy. The electricial replaces the visible wiring and the house burns down from a suspect electrical fire. Is the inspector and jurisdiction then liable? The fire may be the result of a defective hidden wire or faulty splice with the knob and...

Let water flow in bathroom faucets

I will take the water guzzling non compliant water closet and install it in my home and let the homeowner use the low flow one. I found that after doing my business It often takes several flushes to successfully evacuate and clean the new bowls, so where is the savings?

existing building property line walls CBC

I do not see any reason to require additional work beyond what you are doing. You are improving an existing non-compliant situation in the area of the work. To require more would make owners and contractors shy away from getting permits thus making them criminals and subject to jail time.
