1205 Yards and Courts distinction- partially bound on two sides.

Situation: residential units at an inside corner of the building. Trying to meet glazed area requirements but have limited linear exterior dimension.

Proposed solution: Notch in the exterior wall at the corner (~2' both sides)(see crude diagram below). This way, we can fit a larger glazing unit without increasing the unit width.

Question: I read through the code commentary (IBC 2018), and can't decide whether this situation still qualifies as a "yard", or if the partial wrapping on the open two sides would create a "court" condition. There would not be glazing on the partial two sides.

Basically, is this an all or nothing situation, or is there some allowance for projections/obstructions required for a yard?
