Greetings to all,

An interesting case popped up the last couple of days. I was called for a gas test to get a ladies gas turned back on after a leak had been discovered.

She has to be well into her 80's. She had been sick with headaches and throwing up for 3 days while her carbon monoxide alarm was beeping at least some of the time. She thought the alarm was malfunctioning. Now you gotta be mindful she is really elderly and living alone. She finally called the gas company and everything got fixed. Pretty scary stuff.

The problem with the combo smoke and CO alarms is the CO alarm has a shelf life of 2 to 7 years. Then you only have a smoke alarm and a possibly faulty CO alarm.
