Thank you north star, I didn't read after posting my 3 year old is sick with a fever and I ran upstairs to get his fever reducer.

Chapt. 12 says that a smooth, hard, non-absorbent material

can be used, and that it cannot be affected by moisture.

Some have approved the use of gyp. board, in these areas,

with a laquer based, sealing type of paint, instead of the

ceramic tile [ i.e. - cheaper ].

IMO, the tile works better, and will last longer when

being cleaned on a regular basis......Your, and others

interpretations may be different.
