Expanded Coverage of GFCI Protection in the 2023 NFPA 70 NEC

Is Florida on the 2023 NEC? California won't be on the 2023 NEC until 2026.
 
Well then, when you post 2023 code people will be confused. The average civilian sees 2023 and thinks that it is the current code. Not to mention that Florida is way behind.
 
It looks like wording was specifically added to address the hardwiring of these appliances on the prior code cycle and avoid GFCI protection

Since they had to do a MASSIVE back track on the 2020 NEC GFCI requirements for air conditioning equipment.

Colorado State Electrical Board adopts the newest NEC by August first of the publication date. Home rule jurisdictions must adopt that code within one year of the State's adoption.

So, not everyone will be confused, and will find the OP helpful.
