HWH / WD Separation Requirement?

This is a multifamily building in NYS. I was told that our tankless HWH could not be in the same closet as a stacked washer/gas dryer. I can't seem to find anything about this? Maybe NFPA? Anyone know if this is true?
 
I'll guess gas hwh, since dryer is, and not electric? I wonder if there is a make-up or exhaust/venting issue. Based on this google find, I'd read every line of the dryer install manual.

Can a washer and dryer be next to a water heater?

I have a GE gas dryer (DSXH47GGWW) that is currently next to an exterior basement wall. I'd like to move it to the opposite wall (shared with the crawl space) right next to the water heater next to

So where is this closet in relation to bedrooms, bathrooms?
