This place is home for 30 families and has been approved for the last ten years! This is only the tip of the iceberg! :o

Yes and?

The ramp railings do not meet current standards, trellis and building needs stain or paint....

RJJ,

I can tell you did not take art appreciation in school. If this were an essay in English the author could be said to use "poetic license". Don't you love the juxtaposition of opposite ideas presented by the funny glass and metal/vinyl thingy stuck onto the side of the antique structure?

Most likely a group home, yes? For 30 families?

Is it like for the Manson Family?

I would call the architecture....eclectic; kind of Richard Meier meets Jed Clampett.

I wonder if they flipped a coin to see who gets the "historic" wing?

Heads:escargot, tails: crack cocaine

Okay been out of office a few days and now back. Just was wondering why I cannot see the picture posted in but could see some pictures in other post. I kind of thought it was the office Barracuda software but now I am beginning to wonder if it is a setting I have wrong. Mark posted a picture on one of my post and I was able to see it. Any thoughts anyone?

Examiner, you really don't need a picture. Just imagine what it would look like if a tow truck was moving an old sh!tty farmhouse, and he accidentally drove it through Ronald Reagan International airport. And they liked it, so they just left it there. And sat around outside of it with their illegitimate children, and smoked cigarettes.

You know, the intersection of that EIFS cornice with the gable vent of the "historic" structure is one of the most subtle and well-executed architectural details I've seen in a while. Very classy.

I can't exactly tell, but did they actually redirect the gutter of the existing structure over the cornice of the new one, in front of the gable vent, and direct it down over the landing for the exterior door? If so, that would be the icing on the cake, but even if it's not the case, this is a fine example of how to tastefully blend the old with the new.

By the way, Jewish, is not a race.....Rube Goldberg was Jewish

My bad, I thought he was talking about "Rubber Arm" Goldberg, the first African American quarterback for Notre Dame. His nickname was Rube too.

Well, I think it's quaint! ( I hope quaint isn't a racist word, I don't want brudgers throwing down his worn out racist card....shudder)
