Pool below deck

Is the Guard above the pool required to be raised to 48" above the deck floor?

I say no....I don't love it, and i would take a real close look at it.....But I do not think that deck is part of the pool barrier...

Absolutely not. There's nothing in any code that would support requiring that.

If there are alarms on any doors that lead to the raised deck and no gates leading to the street from the raised deck that do not meet barrier requirements....then no the deck guard rail is not required to be a pool barrier.

I’d say ICE offers the best alternative to deck barrier, door alarms and no gates.

I guess you don't have to. There isn't any code requiring you to do that.
