sprinkler water supply

Greetings all,

I have an inspection for this pm of the underground water supply piping to a new building for the sprinkler systems. My question is, does this u/g portion of the piping get tested the same as the spinkler piping within the building at 200 psi for 2 hours? This section of piping is fire water supply and will be in between the water meter and the backflow preventer installed within the bldg. NFPA 13 system.

Yes and a minute amount of leakage is allowed

Check the thirst blocks and I witness the flush also

You have a water meter on the fire supply line?

Oh Yes it gets tested at the 200 PSI

Always require the Material and test report as defined in NFPA codes..There is one sheet for above ground and one for underground piping

NFPA 24 addresses private fire mains, which may be applicable to what you are describing.
