we are now required to do asbestos abatement prior to burning shacks. they all have asbestos containing flooring, drywall compound, siding, roofing, duct wrap and the list goes on. pretty spendy to conduct drills anymore. We have built reusable practice structures instead. Makes you miss the good old days of tossing gas in the structure and barbeque some dogs in the coals, no regulations attached.
The State Health Department of Texas has determoned that anything less than a 4-plex does not require an asbestos survey because the amount of fryable material is so minimum that they are not worried about asbestos in residential buildings.

Now commercial..different story. Also the State of Texas requires an asbestos survey prior to building departments issuing a permit for ANY renovation that requires a permit.
