    Fire Protection Reduction

    Doe anyone know offhand if the reduction of fire protection rating for R construction based on sprinklers applies even if the sprinklers are also used to allow areas increase for VN Construction. i.e., from 1-hour to 30 min. I am concerned about the room to room separation for R construction.

    This seems a useful document. I will check it out and report back. BTW Do any of you do Deep Looks for the Indian Health Service. I have a lot of experience with these facility condition inventories in Alaska, but have recently moved to Colorado.

    Well I tell you, with the new codes and the NFPA the subject is enthralling. Nary the twain shall meet. You are fine with IBC, then get skewered with NFPA. Particularly with open lobbies and stairs. Oh well, that is what makes it interesting and never ending fun.

    Just don't do it, I say. There are guys who get paid to do that 8-5. After a week long hospital codes inspection I find my mind wandering that way, but it hurts. Just don't do it!
